2.62 Crore Children Are Out of School in Pakistan

According to the report discussed in the NA, about 2.62 crore children are currently out of school. This is an alarming problem for a government to make education easily accessible for all.

The statistics revealed that children aged 5 to 9 are 1.07 crore, including 49.72 lakh boys and 58.01 lakh girls who are out of school. The children aged 10 to 12—about 49.35 lakh are not attending the middle schools, icluding 21.06 lakh boys and 28.28 lakh.

The students not enrolled in higher education are 45.45 lakh, including boys 23.06 lakh and girls 22.38 lakh. About 59.50 lakh students are deprived of higher education.

PM Shehbaz Sharif announced educational emergency, persuading the civil organizations and private sectors to cooperate with the govt. to handle the crisis.

The report statistics by UNESCO indicates that 3 out of 4 children are unable to read and write properly by the age of 10. Moreover, about 754 million people are illiterate globally, including 2/3 women.
